The Beginning of a Legacy:
ARISE’s Project Goa 1.0
Project Goa 1.0 was our first major initiative, designed to prepare a team of 10 first-time triathletes
for the ultimate endurance test: the IRONMAN 70.3.
In India, only one location is chosen each year to host an IRONMAN event. In February 2024, ten athletes
placed their trust in ARISE and Coach Ani to guide them to that start line in Goa.

The Challenge: Remote Coaching, Big Results
The majority of the team were true beginners…few had ever attempted a triathlon of this scale.
To make the challenge greater, many were based outstation and were coached remotely.
Over months of structured training across swimming, cycling, and running, we helped them build the discipline, strength, and confidence needed for this jump.
The journey was about transforming a group of new athletes into Half-Ironman competitors.

Hands-On: The Tri-Camp
Six months into the program, we held our first Tri-Camp in Bangalore. This was essential for hands-on experience:
athletes trained together, mastering open-water swims, completing outdoor group rides, and using a local
triathlon to test their progress.
They also learned crucial technical skills like bike handling and mid-ride repairs.
October
Closer to the race, Coach Ani travelled with the team to Goa a few days prior to race day. He provided complete on-the-ground support:
-
Conducting a full race seminar and detailing the entire race-day process.
-
Organizing a reconnaissance of the course to eliminate any surprises.
-
Leading group training sessions along the official route.
-
Every single detail was covered: race day nutrition tuned, logistics handled, and gear checked. Athletes only had to focus on racing.
-
And most importantly, he raced with the team and cheered on his athletes till the last one finished!
Race Day!
The Result: Ten Out of Ten
On October 27, 2024, the proof was in the performance:
Ten out of ten athletes crossed the IRONMAN finish line!
This achievement was a powerful testament to our coaching and the consistency of the athletes, proving
that with the right guidance, even complete first-timers can achieve what once seemed impossible.
